A Partnership with Purpose

When a bank’s philanthropic arm and a grass-roots NGO join forces, scale meets intimacy. SBI Foundation brings national reach, resources and a mandate for sustainable development; Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti (PSVS) contributes two decades of trust in tribal hamlets, forest-fringe settlements and agrarian villages. Together we have built a health-on-wheels ecosystem that closes the last mile between a qualified doctor and a worried mother—no paperwork, no fees, no wasted day’s wage.

How Our Mobile Medical Units Operate

3. Programme Components — Beyond the Stethoscope

1. Mobile OPDs – Daily primary-care sessions that handle everything from fever and skin infections to chronic conditions such as hypertension.

2. Specialised Focus Camps – Quarterly anaemia check-ups for adolescent girls, NCD screening days, eye-care collaborations, and seasonal vector-borne-disease drives.

3. Behaviour-Change Communication – Street-corner talks, flip-chart demos and puppet shows that turn “doctor’s advice” into household habits.

4. Swachh Bharat & WASH Actions – Village clean-ups, toilet-use campaigns and safe-water tips—because prevention begins long before the pill.

5. Community Capacity Building – Training anganwadi workers, SHG leaders and youth volunteers to spot danger-signs early and guide neighbours to the van.

6. Live Data & Impact Dashboard – Every patient encounter feeds a secure cloud database, allowing evidence-based tweaks to routes, stock levels and messaging.

• Daily OPDs running across multiple districts—covering clusters that once required a full-day trip to the nearest Community Health Centre.

• Well into the “tens of thousands” of consultations—far surpassing the original annual benchmarks agreed by both partners.

• More than a thousand health-education touchpoints—from courtyard meetings to school rallies—igniting conversations around anaemia, nutrition, TB and mental wellness.

• Significant drop in out-of-pocket spending as families access free diagnostics and medicines right at their doorstep.

• Early case-detection spikes for lifestyle diseases, enabling timely referrals and averting costly complications.

• Growing trust in formal healthcare—evidenced by villagers returning for scheduled follow-ups and phasing out visits to informal practitioners

6. Alignment with National & Global Goals

Our joint initiative echoes the Government of India’s Ayushman Bharat focus on primary care and dovetails with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water & Sanitation). By marrying curative services with preventive action, we build resilient communities that can thrive long after the van has driven on to the next village.

• Tele-consult Hubs – Piloting video links with district specialists to manage complex cases on the spot.

• Advanced Point-of-Care Devices – Introducing portable ECGs and digital spirometers for faster diagnosis.

• Solar-Powered Cold-Chain Storage – Ensuring temperature-sensitive vaccines and insulin remain viable in peak summer.
