We established the Maghtha Weaving Cluster in Chhindwara under the SFURTI scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
This cluster has become a symbol of hope and opportunity for hundreds of artisan families, supporting their skills,
livelihoods, and economic development. With the provision of modern tools, machines, and essential raw materials,
the cluster has empowered artisans to create, innovate, and improve their standard of living.
This weaving and stitching cluster has given artisans access to necessary resources, helping them enhance their
productivity and craftsmanship. The initiative has positively impacted the lives of 915 artisan families.
This cluster holds special significance for our organization as it is women-centric. Out of 915 artisans,
630 are women. The ownership of this cluster is also with a committee formed by these women artisans.
The cluster is equipped with traditional and modern tools, machinery, and raw materials worth INR 45,00,000.
Products Developed by the Weaving Artisans
The artisans in the cluster produce a variety of high-quality woven and stitched products that reflect
their skills and cultural heritage. These include traditional textiles, home decor items, garments, and accessories.
Impact on Livelihoods
Through the dedicated efforts in the cluster, Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti has significantly improved
the economic prospects of artisans. Their average monthly income has increased from INR 2,500 to INR 5,000,
showing the power of empowering people with the right skills and resources.
Skill Enhancement and Soft Interventions
Believing in holistic development, Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti invested in skill-building and personal development
of the artisans. Several soft intervention programs were conducted:
- Four Week Training Program on Products and Diversification: Artisans learned new design ideas to diversify their product offerings.
- Awareness Workshops on Government Schemes: Sessions helped artisans understand and benefit from available government programs.
- Two Week Training Program on New and Advanced Equipment: Training helped artisans improve efficiency and adopt new technologies.
Global Exposure and Market Reach
Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti played a key role in helping artisans present their work in urban markets and even overseas.
This not only opened up new economic opportunities but also enabled cultural exchange and recognition.
