Executive Summary

Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti, with support from SF Consultant – Bhopal, implemented the Roshani Medical Awareness Program
across 15 remote districts in five states. The initiative reached around 2,000 patients, focusing on awareness regarding cataract,
sickle cell disease, Dengue, and malaria. The program also included medical check-ups for elderly and child patients to enable
early diagnosis and improve health outcomes.

Objectives

• Raise awareness in remote communities about cataract, sickle cell disease, Dengue, and malaria.
• Facilitate early detection of health issues through medical check-ups for elderly and children.
• Provide accessible information on preventive care, treatments, and the importance of regular health check-ups.

Project Implementation

Health Camps and Workshops

• Medical Camps: Conducted in remote villages and towns, offering free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines.
• Educational Workshops: Focused on symptoms, prevention, and treatment of TB, Cataract, Sickle Cell Disease, Dengue, and Malaria. Hygiene and sanitation were also emphasized.

Medical Check-ups

• Elderly Patients: Specialized teams provided age-specific health screenings, particularly for cataracts, with referrals for follow-up care.
• Child Patients: Pediatric evaluations included screening for sickle cell disease and educating parents on child health practices.

Distribution of Information Materials

Printed educational materials like pamphlets, posters, and brochures were distributed to reinforce learning and encourage sharing of information within communities.

Impact and Achievements

• Awareness Creation: Reached 2,000 patients and families with critical health education.
• Early Detection: Enabled timely identification of diseases, leading to better treatment outcomes.
